Though formally a business major she was very much involved in the school's jazz performance program (the Jackie McLean Institute) where she had the opportunity to study with and learn from renowned musicians like Abraham Burton, Eric McPherson, Steve Davis, Nat Reeves, and Rene McLean.

During her time at university, Alden enjoyed opportunities performing at venues all over New England including the esteemed Sidedoor Jazz Club, the Hartford Jazz Festival, Infinity Music Hall, and Black Eyed Sally's for a special CPTV broadcast (Hartford Jazz Society's "Rising Star"). In 2016 Alden was also selected as a recipient of the Dorothy Goodwin Scholarship for her creative performance and compositional work honoring women in jazz.

Upon graduating Alden moved to New York and has since performed at venues like Smalls Jazz Club, Smoke Jazz & Supper Club, the historical Minton's Playhouse, Cornelia Street Cafe, Shapeshifter Lab, and Robert's Restaurant in Columbus Circle as a leader and sideman. She is grateful to have had opportunities to perform with a variety of incredible musicians including Dezron Douglas, Josh Evans, Greg Glassman, David Bryant, Steve Davis, and Nat Reeves.  

Now a resident of Brooklyn, Alden performs regularly all over the city. She is also currently working towards recording her debut EP/album.
